Batt Insulation

When conventional batts are installed in non-standard cavities or in irregular framed areas, problems occur. Batts must be cut to fit these areas, creating gaps and seams that allow air to escape and decreases the R Value.  Often, batt installers do not cut their batts because of the time required for a closer fit, instead they will jam them into place, reducing r-values.
Thermo Seal Insulation Systems does not install batts because we do not recommend thier use, knowing that our Blow in Blanket System and Polyurethane Spray Foam options are so much better.

Batt's are generally used because it is a familiar product, and cheap in the short-term. Batt's never perform up to the r-values on the label, and are rarely installed well.  Insulation should never be about the short-term, as the savings of having an efficient building envelope build year after year after year.  Go with a modern, effective insulation system in your building, and you will not regret it.
